International ACCREDITATION
The Viktor Frankl Institute Vienna is a scientific society with the goal of maintaining and fostering the life work of Viktor Frankl and to provide access to authentic information about Logotherapy and Existential Analysis. The Institute has exclusive access to Viktor Frankl's private archives and the world's largest collection of texts and research on Logotherapy and Existential Analysis.
To promote high excellence standards in the professional conduct of logotherapy training, practice, and research, and to provide access to reliable logotherapeutic offers, the international community of logoterapist has defined quality control and accreditation procedures. The application of these measures was entrusted to the International Association of Logotherapy and Existential Analysis at the Viktor Frankl Institute Vienna.
The member institutions listed in the International Directory commit themselves voluntarily to comply with the Ethical Guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA) and of the German Federation for Psychotherapy (DVP e.V.), respectively. These set up standards of behavior for all activities related to the exercise of therapeutic, advisory and scientific functions.
Graduates of accredited training programs may apply for individual membership and accreditation with the International Association at the Viktor Frankl Institute. After voluntary commitment to one of the abovementioned codes of conduct they are listed in the International Logotherapists Directory and receive a certification document. They are granted discounts at meetings of the VFI and some of its partner institutions, such as the biennial World Congress of Logotherapy ("The Future of Logotherapy"); also, transfers of patients requests are possible.
